Rikki Wemega-Kwawu, born in Sekondi, Ghana is an internationally renowned Ghanaian Painter and Installation Artist. He is a self-taught Artist and has practiced as a full-time Painter since 1981. His painting style ranges from abstract expressionism to figuration, always dealing with the themes of African cultural heritage, politics and expression. His work is informed by Jungian Philosophy and Afro-metaphysics.
He is an alumnus of the prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, U.S.A. His work also includes teaching art theory, art history, and writing.
He lives and works in Takoradi, Ghana
